Chadlington First Team came from behind to eventually beat Combe FC on Saturday. The win now makes it 3 in 3 games and keeps them at the top of the table.
The game started started bright but it was Combe that came out the blocks the fastest. Their passing and movement caused no end of problems for Chads midfield and back line. It didn't take long for that advantage to get it's reward when Combe took the lead inside 5 minutes. For the next 20 minutes Combe continued to press but Chad hung on in there through some fine saves made by Will Foster.
On 25 minutes however an equaliser was found when Ollie Jordan wide on the left swept in to get a Chad goal. However just 5 minutes later Combe restored their lead and then grabbed another shortly after to go into the half time break 3-1 ahead and it could've been more.
A stern half time team talk and 3 changes saw a different Chad exit the dressing room and they got their immediate reward. From the kick off Ethan Savage spotted the Combe keeper off his line and sent in a long looping shot which dropped just under the cross bar and into the net, 3-2.
This gave Chad exactly what they needed and suddenly it was a reverse of the first half. Combe seemed stunned by Chads work rate which got its reward 15 minutes in when Alfie Peachey levelled the score at 3-3.
It then took until the 80th minute for the game to be decided. Up from the back, James Andrews and grabbed the winner to the relief of everyone watching and to the disbelief of Combe.
It was deserved win but take nothing away from Combe, they played well and made for an exciting game.
Full time 4-3.
