Chadlington First Team travelled to Heyford Athletic on Saturday in Division One at the unusual kick off time of 5pm. The game was part of the Groundhop weekend where a group of football fans travel the country ticking off grounds at various levels.
158 spectators watched the game which was agreed to be the best game of the 3 attended that day.
Twice Chadlington took the lead via new signing Jordan Charlesworth only to be pegged back by Heyford. The last equaliser coming in the 91st minute to dash Chads hopes. Full Time 2-2.
Chadlington Reserves faced Stonesfield Reserves in Division Three and ran out comfortable 5-2 winners.
Bizarrely Chads first 4 goals were 4 long range lobs of the keeper who seemingly didn’t want to learn from his mistakes.
Ethan Taylor opened the scoring followed by Matt Waller. Brinley Mayne then scored direct from a free kick. Mauro Esteves finished the first half scoring as Chad went in 4-0 up at half time.
In the second half Stonesfield rallied and threw everything at Chad as they went route one. They scored twice themselves but couldn’t stop Chads veteran defender Kevin Mulhearn from scoring from a corner to make it 5-2 at full time.
