Chadlington First Team travelled to Brize Norton in the Fred Ford Cup on Saturday and comfortably progressed to the third round.

Despite Brize being a league below Chad, they are were unbeaten at home and sat second in Division Two.

It was Chads strike force that proved the difference though as all three got on the scoresheet with Jordan Charlesworth and Alfie Peachey grabbing braces and Sam Lewis adding another.

3 goals were conceded to the 5 scored by Chad, an own goal completed the 6-3 win.

Chadlinton Reserves returned to league action and faced a stiff test as they lined up against FC Mills in Division Three.

Despite sitting lower in the table than Chad, Mills had games in hand and had won 5 of their opening 5 league games. With Yarnton and Wootton playing in cup games, a win for Chad would send them a point clear and top of the table.

FC Mills are always a tough and determined opponent but in the first half Chad were clearly the better team and went into the break 2-0 up via George Slatter and Finlay Beggin. It should have been more.

All Chad had to do was weather out an expected early onslaught from Mills but within a minute of the restart they had conceded. 2-1.

That goal gave Mills the foothold they needed and the momentum to equalise 15 minutes later. Chad were struggling under the pressure and perforomance dipped.

However quality and fresh legs will prevail, they rallied and soon found their rhythm. With 10 minutes to go Gus Boeing grabbed Chads third goal.

The team held strong for the rest of the game in opposition to strong pressure and aggression from Mills.

At the final whistle it was 3-2 to Chad and their oppositions 100% record was shattered. The win and the 3 points meant that they now sit at the top of the table having played a game more than their nearest rivals.
