Chadlington go out of the Oxfordshire Junior Shield at the semi final stage after a 2-1 defeat to fellow Witney & District Premier Division side, Hailey FC, at Thame United.
Despite a valiant effort, 2 quick goals in the 20th and 25th minute sank Chad until the 90th minute when a Hailey own goal made for a close and exciting finish.
In reality, Hailey were too strong on the night for Chad and their experience in big matches showed. Despite this, Chad had some good spells but the couldn't build up pressure on the opposition to force a way into the game.
It has been a great cup run nethertheless and the team did the club proud in getting this far in the competition.
Hailey now face holders Hardwick Sports in the final in May and Chad hope that it wont be another 30 years before they reach this stage again!
