Chadlington First Team faltered for the second week running as a poor second half saw them go down to a heavy 6-1 defeat to Bampton United in Division One.
The only highlight was a well worked goal from Lee Woodward.
Team: Ware, D Cleevely (c), T Walker, G Walker, Foster, Korge, E Bennett, J Walker, Woodward, Chadwick, Slatter. Subs: Newton Grain.
Next Match: AWAY v Minster Lovell. Saturday 12th March.
Chadlington Reserves were up against it from the kick off as they hosted Eynsham SSC in Division Three.
Stand in goalkeeper Matt North gave away an early penalty in the game and with another goal soon after and another just before half time saw Chad walk into the break 3-0 down. Eynsham were the better team and their enthusiasm had caused injuries within the depleted squad as Mauro Esteves was taken out of the game with a cynical and reckless tackle.
Things soon went from bad to worse as Eynsham struck early with two further goals to make it 5-0. From here it could have gone badly wrong but it didn't. Chad started to find their rhythm and struck three quick goals via Iuri Esteves, Ollie Jordan and Gus Boeing.
Eynsham started to panic and reverted to their usual style of arguing amongst themselves. Further chances for Chad came and went but ultimately they just ran out of time to make it a closer affair.
Despite the defeat they can take real positives on a tough day and now look to finishing the last two league games of the season positively .
Team: North, Hobden (c), A Bennett, Legg, Coles, Jordan, J Cleevely, Mayne, Taylor, M Esteves, Boeing. Subs: I Esteves.
