Chadlington Reserves put in a strong display on Saturday but left with nothing to show for it as they went down to a late goal against promotion chasing Leafield FC in Division Three.
Throughout the game Chad were fantastic and played good football Without ever really looking like scoring. That was until the second half when the ball was bundled behind the line by Aaron Bennett. The Leafield keeper managed to hook the ball away quickly though and the opposition linesman declared that he could not see what had happened…..surprisingly.
To be clear and being stood behind the goal, it was clearly 2 feet over the line but the refferee had no choice but to not give a goal.
To rub salt into the wounds, 10 minutes from time Leafield snatched a winner as Chad keeper Harry Ware was the victim of a bad bounce as he attempted to clear the ball. His miss hit clearance deflected straight to the Leafield striker who slotted in home.
Final Score 1-0 to Leafield.
