Ronnie Beauchamp 1943 - 2022

It’s with great sadness that we share the news that Ronnie Beauchamp passed away on Saturday 19th February.

Ronnie was a real character of the village and all round good guy. He was a popular guy and so many people have fond memories of him from over the years.

He was born and raised in Chadlington and he played football and cricket at the club as well as being a talented Aunt Sally player.

He regularly still watched the current teams play on Saturday afternoons and was always warmly welcomed when he arrived. Usually it would be to tell everyone of how well his team Arsenal were doing or about how bad their rivals were getting on. Occasionally his news wasn't true and is testament to his dry sense of humour.

At football he won the Chipping Norton Charity Cup in 1966 and W&D Division Four in 1972. At cricket he won the W&D Fred Jones Knock Out Cup in 1965.

It was always a pleasure to talk to him and it’s hard to think that we won’t see him again in the village.

Rest in peace Ronnie! You will be missed.
