Goal Fest to open up the season!

Chadlington Reserves opened up their Division Three season with a hard fought victory against Eynsham SSC on Saturday 18th September.

It was a hot and sunny afternoon and Eynsham got an early 1-0 lead in the game to heap the pressure on Chad.

However they dug deep and grabbed a couple of quick goals via Cameron Hannington and Brinley Mayne to take into half time. HT 2-1 Chad.

More goals quickly followed in the second half as Sam Coles added a brace and the in form Mauro Esteves another to make it 5-1. This wasn't the whole story of the game though as Eynsham still posed a threat going forward and often got in behind Chads back line. They came up against the man of the match who was 17 year old keeper Harry Ware playing in his debut game for the club. His mature performance kept Chad in a comfortable position.

Eynsham grabbed a couple of late consilation goals as player tired and formations changed but Chad were never really threatened.

It was a great opening day performance by all involved.

Team: Ware, A Bennett, Hobden (c), Kemp, Hannington, Coles, North, Plumbridge, Mayne, Jefferies, Esteves. Subs: McElvaine, S Bennett.
